“THAI” –  A new peerless scheme sanctioned by the Tamilnadu Government, in the Guidelines and Instructions envisage the message that , to overcome the disparities in development process and to ensure minimum basic infrastructure facilities to all habitations leading to the improvement of the physical quality life index of each and every village habitations of the Village Panchayats, the Government has introduced a flagship programme called “Tamil Nadu Village Habitations Improvement (THAI) Scheme”. 


The main objective of “ THAI “ Scheme is to provide all basic amenities to every village habitations.


            For the proper implementation of the Scheme and in order to ascertain the present status on the availability of basic needs and to assess the habitationwise requirements of basic infrastructural facilities , a detailed survey has to be conducted by the Survey Team , which should visit all the habitations lying within the Village Panchayats.

          Accordingly, a Training had been conducted to the Survey Team at Divisional level by the Project Director DRDA , Executive Engineer (RD) and the Zonal Officers respectively on 09.09.2011 and 10.09.2011 explaining about how to undertake survey and assess the requirement of basic infrastructure.


After assessing and validating the survey details, priority needs of all habitations in the Village Panchayats will be finalized.
